This February you have the opportunity to learn more about “In Play,” the site-specific installation by Joseph Havel permanently located on our Great Lawn. On February 12, in collaboration with Rice Public Art, we will host “Joseph Havel: The Artist in Conversation, The Process of Creating ‘In Play.’” Brad Bucher ’65, art patron, will also participate in the conversation with sculptor Joseph Havel, director of the Glassell School of Art. “In Play” was generously donated by Leslie ’69 and Brad ’65 Bucher.
The conversation between Havel and Bucher will be held in the Hudspeth Auditorium from 4-5 p.m. To extend the conversation, we welcome your questions and reflections at the end of the conversation. A reception will be held in the Dean’s Commons in the Anderson-Clarke Center following the conversation until 6 p.m.
Please join us; this event is free and open to the public.
Parking is available in West Lot 1. See the Rice map for location information.
