It’s baseball season at Rice University, and each spring we in the Intensive English Program are grateful to the Rice Athletic Department for providing tickets to a baseball game. Last Friday was a perfect day for a ballgame, and we had a great turnout. Over seventy ESL students were in attendance at Reckling Park to watch the Rice Owls take on the East Carolina Pirates. Always eager to experience new aspects of American culture, our students loved learning the rules of the game, cheering for the team, and diving for foul balls, which were (thankfully) few and far between!
