Planting A Tree

tree

Heritage OakYou may have noticed that here at the Glasscock School, we are pretty fond of trees. We’ve written about the Warhol Tree and we topped our new building with a tree when construction was still in progress. Now we have a new tree to be excited about, a Heritage Oak from Hemphill, Texas that was planted last month between our building and the still-under-construction auditorium. The process of transporting and planting the tree was pretty intensive, and we documented it thoroughly. This new oak tree will soon be joined by a Texas Ash tree and a Loquat Leaf Oak tree which will be new specimens to the Rice campus.

We are looking forward to watching this new tree grow as we grow with it.
