You may have noticed that here at the Glasscock School, we are pretty fond of trees. We’ve written about the Warhol Tree and we topped our new building with a tree when construction was still in progress. Now we have a new tree to be excited about, a Heritage Oak from Hemphill, Texas that was planted last month between our building and the still-under-construction auditorium. The process of transporting and planting the tree was pretty intensive, and we documented it thoroughly. This new oak tree will soon be joined by a Texas Ash tree and a Loquat Leaf Oak tree which will be new specimens to the Rice campus.
We are looking forward to watching this new tree grow as we grow with it.
