Nearly 1900 teachers are attending the 18th annual Advanced Placement* Summer Institute on campus this month.
Courses for new and experienced AP* and Pre-AP* teachers are offered in art, English, foreign language, math, music, science and social studies. Courses are led by experienced, College Board-endorsed consultants. Faculty for 2012 include AP test development committee members, AP exam readers, winners of special recognition awards from the College Board, and winners of regional and national teaching awards.
“Absolutely loving this campus and the AP program,” tweeted a current participant. You can follow the action on Twitter at #RiceAPSI.
“The rainy weather is a nice break from the hot summers we have in Houston, and we hope everyone is enjoying their training,” said Rachel Finch, program director for the Center for College Readiness. “We have more than 650 teachers on campus this week, and we are prepared for more to come in the next two weeks.”
