On June 13, our Intensive English as a Second Language students got a treat by visiting the Houston Zoo. Twenty-five students visited the zoo throughout the course of the day. Our morning students spent most of their time in the new African Forest exhibit, but our afternoon students loved the monkeys, especially the baby orangutan Aurora. The air-conditioned aquarium and the tropical bird house were also popular spots.
Our students are on break now, but we look forward to having them back when classes begin again July 5. Students from more than 100 countries have attended the ESL program at Rice which helps students to prepare for university study or professional programs.
