Today marks the 99th anniversary of the formal dedication of Rice University, which took place October 12, 1912. We call it Rice Day – a day on which the Rice community is encouraged to celebrate the university and spread the good word across the community. For a few fast facts about Rice, read “What They’re Saying About Rice“(pdf).
So the countdown is on to our Centennial Celebration to be held October 10-14, 2012, with many events for students, alumni, faculty/staff and the community. Bookmark the Centennial website to keep up with the goings-on.
If you’re not already reading the Centennial Historian’s blog, you should start. Melissa Kean does a fabulous job sharing interesting tidbits from our past 100 years.
